Holidays in 2023

Can you believe we are into week three of January 2023 already!

Here at JLM Travel we have seen a little bit of a change this year with different durations from the norm. Seven night’s holidays have still been our highest selling duration, however we have seen an increase in enquiries and bookings with a shift to both shorter and longer breaks that have been booked in the last few weeks since Christmas.

For last minute breaks, we have seen a lot more three and four night durations. As well as city breaks, the Spanish Costa’s and the Canary Islands have seen an increase in short breaks. For Summer 2023, we are seeing more ten and eleven night durations than usual as people may be changing their holiday habits during the cost of living crisis.  

While all inclusive breaks are still the most popular board basis, we have seen an increase in self catering holidays, which have been more popular this year than in the past few years, particularly for the shorter durations too.

Families are taking advantage of an increase in free child places available from their regional airport, and there are more durations available than ever with the free child place too. We have seen that couples are upgrading to slightly longer durations and higher star ratings with a bit more luxury than in previous years.

Here at JLM Travel we have also found an increase in cruise enquiries and bookings. People who had never previously considered a cruise are seeing what fantastic value for money they over too. At the time of writing, we have a fantastic Norwegian Fjords cruise available at the end of June from just £599 for seven night’s full board. Families are discovering the amazing facilities and considering cruise holidays for the first time too.

 The great thing though is that after the uncertainty of the pandemic, the British public have the travelling bug again and they are ready for their holidays!
