There are lots of historic sites within easy reach of Kalkan so it is a great base for exploring the local area. The ancient city of Patara, the birthplace of St. Nicholas The sunken city of Kekova is just off the coast and excursions leave daily from the harbour. There are all types of activities for the more adventurous including scuba diving, canoeing or a popular excursion is the jeep safari that explores the local mountains and waterfalls.
