The busy marina has a lovely atmosphere and is a great spot for some lunch at one of the many seafood restaurants or a coffee in a local cafe whilst watching the world go by. The nightlife is very much low key on Madeira and usually spent in one of the bars or restaurants enjoying good food and conversation.

Madeira is famous for its wine and a visit to one of the many wineries is a popular day out for tourists. The interior of the island is very rugged where mountains are covered with colourful villages covered in bougainville that run down the mountainside down to the dramatic coastline. There really are some stunning views on Madeira and many people enjoy them on walks through the hills enjoying the fresh mountain air. The island has a good public transport system making it very easy to get around. A popular trip with tourists is to Pico do Arieiro which is the third highest mountain on the island, a bus will take you up the peak which offers fantastic views of the island and is not to be missed.
