Holidays to Lake Garda are as popular as ever with British holiday makers. As the largest of the famous Italian Lakes, it offers stunning views, fantastic walking trails and a diverse range of towns all sitting at the side of the beautiful lake shore. The local ferry taxis are a fantastic way of getting to see this beautiful area and the quaint towns that all offer something unique.

Holidays to Lake Garda are particularly popular with couples, but are also becoming increasingly popular with families too. There is a popular theme park, Gardaland that offers a choice of thrilling rides and attractions. Lake Garda is situated in a naturally beautiful setting in with the Dolomites at northern end of the lake and fertile vineyards at the southern end near Bardolino. The lake is halfway between Venice and Milan.

As well as the beautiful scenery visitors can enjoy a little bit of history during their holiday to Lake Garda. From cobbled streets in Limone lined with shops, boutiques and cafes to vibrant coloured properties in the castle town of Malcesine you can spend hours soaking up the laid back atmosphere amongst the historical sites. All of the towns offer a choice of cafes, restaurants and bars. Sit back and relax and enjoy a glass of wine by the harbour or lake side from one of the local vineyards at the south of the lake such as Lzaise and Bardolino.

Balmy days in Lake Garda

The southern towns enjoy a warmer, med- like mild climate and as well as the vineyards, are surrounded by lemon groves and olive plantations. In the northern towns, a gentle breeze blow making it an ideal area for water sports on the lake. Hours of fun can be had by the more adventurous, which can be viewed from many of the lake shore bars and restaurants, a perfect excuse to relax and take in the views people watching whilst enjoying a spot of sunshine.
